Quartz age extension applied to SE Asian cover sands
نویسندگان
چکیده
A significant feature of the surface sediments southeast Asia is a regionally extensive layer distinctive red, quartz-rich, cover sand observed throughout Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, further afield. In many locations, these sands immediately overlay laterite containing tektites, known as Muong Nong type, associated with large meteorite impact between 750 800ka in Indochina. Sections at sites Vietnam have been investigated using field laboratory profiling, quartz SAR procedures. some locations sections consist low-sensitivity saturated signals overlain by visibly indistinguishable high-sensitivity ages less than c. 35ka. Further work has undertaken to attempt extend luminescence dating for older materials, including samples thermally stimulated or transferred access traps that are expected saturate higher doses. Luminescence was recorded during sample heating hold, giving thermoluminescence (TL-ramp) isothermal decay (ID) data, addition optically after transfer (Thermally Transferred Optically Stimulated Luminescence, TT-OSL) measurements. These measurements produced equivalent dose values up 250Gy, 70–125ka, which significantly younger would be from association tektites. Investigation properties consistent prior investigations, suggesting not sufficiently stable environmental temperatures above 25 °C permit age extension methods.

Controlled dissolution of quartz material.Part II. Quartz chemical etching applied to blanks industrial manufacturing
In many electronic applications, chemical etching process is used to manufacture the substrates. This method has been applied for long on quartz crystal blanks manufacturing for minor adjustments of the vibration frequencies. This paper pesents a way to implement an industrial chemical etching process specially dedicated for large thickness removals without damaging the blanks surface texture. ...

The glass transition is a complex, non-equilibrium physical phenomenon and despite the numerous efforts expended in the last three decades, the mechanisms governing the glass transition continue to raise a lot of fundamental questions. Its study is of extreme importance from both academic and technological points of view. Several theoretical models have been developed to improve our understandi...
متن کاملComparison of Neural Classification Algorithms Applied to Land Cover Mapping
We compared the performance of several supervised classification algorithms on multi-source remotely sensed images. Apart from the Multi-Layer Perceptron, K-Nearest-Neighbour and Radial Basis Function network approaches, we looked more in detail at the Support Vector Machine classifier, which recently showed promising results in our setting. In particular, it is able to provide meaningful answe...
